The purpose of this self-study course is to prepare Pathfinder leaders to become Teen Leadership Training (TLT) Instructors who qualify for teaching TLT workshops at a conference-sponsored TLT Convention where TLT academic Credit may be earned. This course is divided into four learning modules with learning activities and a quiz for each model.
You need to have a copy of the Teen Leadership Training Director’s Guide (AdventSource, 2016) because this is the source material for this course. References will be made to specific content within its pages. Following the successful completion of this course you will receive a completion certificate. If you are an invested Master Guide and want to continue to work toward an Adventist Youth Ministry Training (AYMT) Certification then you will need to complete the required field work outlined below.
You will learn the simple tasks and responsibilities that Conference-level TLT Instructors must follow to assist Conference Pathfinder Directors and TLT Coordinators in making a Conference TLT Program successful. By the end of this course you will be able to: 1.Implement conference-sponsored TLT training criteria to help conference staff fulfill TLT requirements. 2.Understand the Lab Planning and Department Evaluation processes relate to TLT workshop instruction. 3.Prepare activity-based lesson plans that will engage TLTs in learning leadership skills within their clubs. 4.Understand how TLT workshop instruction relates to conference TLT records and academic credit.
Tracy Wood serves as Director for Youth & Young Adult Ministries of North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. Pastor Tracy has been instrumental, along with Pathfinder leaders from around the North American Division, in the development of the TLT Academic Credit Option.
