The purpose of this 4-module course is to examine how you can effectively train yourself and how you can be more aware of your environment and make your school a safer more secure facility for you, your faculty and staff, and your students and volunteer’s.
After completing this course you will earn 0.2 CEU and a certificate of completion in your Adventist Learning Community e-portfolio.
You will learn strategies to become more aware of your environment, people, and activities in the school setting. You will learn internal and external precursors to violent behavior by others. You will understand and develop safety strategies for everyone within an academic setting.
Donald Scott Rackley is recognized as a subject expert, and has worked in law enforcement within the federal government for over 25 years. He has expertise in personal and physical security and investigating tragic events like those of Columbine and Connecticut. He has worked closely with diverse national and international security and law enforcement professionals. In his role with the Department of the Army, he co-authored the Army’s first Protective Services Field manual. He led a 4 member mobile training team to Kuwait and Iraq to train soldiers on how to protect high-risk personnel in a combat environment. He is a dedicated, innovative professional.

It was a very long and dry presentation on school safety. Very important material but presented in a way that tended to lose the listener.
