Course Summary

The Human Resources (HR) 101 course covers a basic introduction to Human Resource topics through the lens of the employee life cycle. The employee life cycle represents the different stages an employee goes through during his/her tenure with an organization from Hire to Retire. Whether you are new to HR, serve as a HR department of one or practice HR as one of your secondary functions, you are in the right place. On completion of this course, you will have the beginner’s knowledge of the Human Resource function and how to shape and to grow a Human Resources Department within your organization.

About the Instructor

MS, PHR, SHRM-CP Director, Human Resources Services of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist Church Director of the North American Division of Human Resource Services Department and Facilitator of the Annual North American Division Human Resource Conference bringing together HR Professionals and Employment Law Experts from across the Division in an effort to share best practices and industry trends. Orna holds a Master’s degree with a concentration in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and holds the SHRM-CP and PHR certifications. She is responsible for the Talent Management Cycle within Human Resource Services at the North American Division corporate and in her role she oversees Employment, Compensation, Employee Relations, Benefits Administration and Employment Law Compliance. Prior to her current position, Orna worked in various industries as a Human Resource Professional in California, Massachusetts, and the Washington DC Metro area and has served in the field of Human Resources for over 15 years.
