This curriculum is the result of a collaborative effort between the General Conference Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department and the North American Division Community Services Department. Providing services to your community is an essential ministry function of every church congregation and can transform the area where you are serving, filling it with compassion, healing, and new life.

This course contains fifteen learning modules, which include instructional videos, learning activities, power point presentations, video scripts, and quizzes. Additional reading materials, and learning activities are available throughout the learning modules. After watching video instruction, completing the learning activities and additional readings, and completing the module quizzes, you will earn 2.0 continuing education units. Please carefully complete all learning activities and collect downloadable resources prior to proceeding to the next lesson.
The purpose of this course is to give you the tools necessary to launch and provide high quality, consistent community services through your Adventist Community Services department. You can make a difference! Once you have completed all 15 learning modules, an on-line certificate for basic certification will be automatically generated (2 CEU). To be eligible for Module 16, you must complete this course AND all of the learning activities in the course. In addition, you must bring (electronically or hard copy) all completed learning activities to Module 16 training. In order to get your full certification, completion of module 16 must be done in person, in real-time, with a facilitator in a classroom utilizing the Flipped Classroom learning model. Module 16 is available by contacting Dr. May-Ellen Colon or Dr. Sung Kwon.
