The Birth Companions course is an 11-module course to train caring individual how to mentor, advocate for, and support the mother-to-be during pregnancy and after giving birth to a child. This course includes information about how to set up a training program. This course can be taught as a community health seminar, as part of an evangelism project, during a health expo, in small groups, and in other venues.
After completing this course, you will earn 1 CEU and a certificate of completion in your Adventist Learning Community e-portfolio.
You will learn how to support and mentor a mother to be during pregnancy and immediately following giving birth. You will also learn strategies to deliver this program in your community or other settings. This course is not a portion of a health care practitioner license. It does not give you the right to diagnose, prescribe, or oversee medical treatment of any kind.
