The Next Steps course is for the purpose of understanding the findings from the Adventist Millennial Study conducted by the Barna Group, and empowering a research-informed, relevant approach to young adult ministry.

The Next Steps course does not assume any prior knowledge in young adult ministry, welcoming any and all participants willing to learn, grow, and implement mentorship with next generations. After watching the videos, completing course learning materials and activities, and taking short multiple choice quizzes, you’ll earn 0.4 continuing education units [CEU] and a training certificate in young adult ministry for your Adventist Learning Community ePortfolio.

What Will I Learn In This Course?

By the end of the Next Steps course you will be able to apply the research findings from the Adventist Millennial Study to young adult ministry in various contexts.

Dr. A Allan Martin

A. Allan Martin, PhD is the teaching pastor of Younger Generation Church [YGchurch.com], the vibrant young adult ministry of the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church in Texas [USA]. He served as the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventist lead research facilitator for the Adventist Millennial Study. Dr. Martin continues as adjunct faculty for the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, specializing in discipleship and young adult ministry. He and his wife, Deirdre, tour internationally, speaking about relationships as well as equipping new generations in Christian lifestyle and leadership. Their daughter, Alexandria, is a nursing student at Southern Adventist University, while Allan and Deirdre continue to reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
